Who is the practice best suited for?
+
The practice is suited for adults of all ages, with a particular focus on patients age 50 and older, and patients seeking continuity-based primary care for optimal health maintenance, chronic disease management, and preventive care. We are experienced in management of chronic, complex patients. We emphasize prevention, medication safety, care coordination, and practical treatment plans that take into consideration the patient's overall health.

What should I do before my first appointment?

Before the first visit, please arrange for all available medical records to be sent to our office. Patients may send records electronically or deliver them to the office in person. Please bring a complete medication list, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements. Include medication names, doses, frequency, and the prescribing clinician when possible.
What insurance do you currently accept?
+
Governors Village Medical Center currently accepts Medicare. For patients under age 65, membership-based enrollment is available at this time. Additional insurance participation may be added in the future. Please contact the office to confirm current payment options or for additional questions.
What should I expect at the first visit?
+
The first visit focuses on establishing care, reviewing medical history, medications, prior records, preventive care needs, chronic medical conditions, and current concerns. For complex medical histories, additional follow-up visits may be needed to fully address all issues.
Can urgent problems be handled at the first visit?
+
The first visit is primarily for establishing care. Severe, worsening, or emergency symptoms should not wait for a new patient appointment. If you are enrolled as a patient and have a medical concern, contact the office and we will try and fit you in on an urgent basis.
